Scottish Country Dancing

Thursday evenings, 7:45 – 10.00pm Sept-May Liddington Village Hall

Our group was set up in 1992 to support the building of a Village Hall in Liddington. We are a friendly, enthusiastic, sociable band of dancers.
Classes are led by a rota of Royal Scottish Country Dance Society qualified teachers and experienced members of the Group.

Newcomers are always welcome, so whether you are new to dancing or new to the area, you will be most welcome. For classes we recommend wearing casual clothes and soft soled shoes.

Scottish Country Dancing is really good exercise, it gives both the body and the brain a good workout and is a lot of fun.  If you are looking for a way to keep fit but aren’t into jogging or going to the gym, why not give dancing a try.  It’s an inexpensive evening which gives you both exercise and lots of laughter.

You definitely do not need a partner – there will always be somebody to dance with you and during an evening you will dance with a number of different partners.  There is also no need to have any Scottish heritage.

When & Where we meet:

Liddington Village Hall Church Rd, Liddington, SN4 0HB

Approximately a two minute drive from the Great Western Hospital & J15 of the M4. The Hall has its own car park.

It has a suspended wooden floor, which is perfect for dancing. A professional sound system is installed so there is excellent sound reproduction for our music. There are also good kitchen facilities for party nights.

We dance most Thursday evenings between the beginning of September to the end of May with a break for Christmas and Easter

Fees:
£30 for a 10 week session
£5.00 a session for ‘Pay as you Go’                            Free Taster Session

Newcomers:      Newcomers are integrated into the class and by arrangement, we provide extra tuition to teach the basics steps and formations of SCD making it easier for them to improve their dancing skills.
