Where
- There has been an increase in the number of dwelling burglaries recently reported to the police in Swindon and surrounding area.
- A property in The Street, Liddington,Swindon has been subject to a burglary.
When
- This offence occurred between 0.01am Friday 13th and 12.29pm Sunday 15th November 2009.
How
- General methods of entry have included forcing doors and windows, although in some cases entry has been made via doors and windows left insecure overnight or while the home owner was out.
- Please be especially aware of the need to keep your home as secure as possible at all times by locking doors and windows.
- On this occasion entry was gained by forcing double glazed window, property taken from within.
What Can I Do
- All offences of burglary are being actively investigated but the Police are grateful for any information that may identify the persons responsible for these crimes. Please be aware of any strangers in your area who appear to be behaving suspiciously or trading from door to door.
- Record descriptions of such people and any vehicles that they may have with them and contact the Police on 0845 408 7000 or dial 999 in an emergency. Remember that you can also provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
